Good News and Bad News Regrading JAM 2

Standard

Hello all,

I have some good news and some bad news about JAM 2.

The good news is that while I almost lost the entire file, but I manged to get it back. The bad news is that part of the document is missing. Roughly about the last third of it. The good news on that front is that I hand write all my stories first, so I still have a hard copy of the rest of the story. I was all set to send it to my editor and have it ready to go by this fall.

I apologize for the this hiccup. I am fast typer so I will have the rest returned in no time. So much better than I originally thought which was to have to retype the entire thing. Whew!

And before you think, BACKUP! I usually do. I thought I had actually. Turns out, I didn’t. So I will double and triple check this time that it gets backed up properly. So back to #amwriting. #Willhaveitdonesoon! #AMSOSORRY! #FacePalm! #LearningExperience

Thank you to everyone who has purchased a copy of JAM: Jordan and Mary. Will you please leave a review on Amazon and Goodreads? Pretty please with a cherry on top? I hate to beg, but I only have one review on each site. Reviews really do help both the author and the reader. Both good reviews and bad. But luckily, everyone who has gotten the book has told me they LOVED it! Even if they didn’t leave a public review. Here are the links:

There is also a purchase link on Barnes and Noble and Kobo if you prefer. Reviews may be left there as well. Thanks again!

In other news, I hit a brick wall on JAM 3, but I will finish it. But I got an idea for a new novel. I will give updates as the novel develops. In early stages yet and doesn’t even have a working title. So #WIP is being handwritten.

Thank you! Hope everyone has had an easy transition back into the new school year!

Update

Standard

Hello all,

Once again it has been a while since I have posted. I have been recovering from bunion surgery. It has been six weeks now and while I am out of the boot, the toe remains swollen and the pain lessens every day.

As for writing, I have temporarily put JAM book 3 on hold. Instead I have started writing a new novel. Another romance novel. I like the way this one is shaping up. I promise I will finish book 3 as well as get book 2 edited and published. Now that the writer’s block is lifting, I am back to writing.

Before my writer’s block set in, I was able to write a short Fan Fiction based on Once Upon A Time. A friend got me hooked on the show. I took a rare quiet moment to allow Emma and Captain Hook to spend some intimate time together. Unfortunately for them, the whole group of heroes finds out much to their embarrassment. All you #Once fans, let me know if you want me to post it on my blog.

The rest of my time I have spent laid up with my foot elevated. Since I spent time with writer’s block, I instead spent my time playing PC games such as Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 and Sims 4. In development of my park or Sim, I often used my characters and built their world in the game.

For example, in the Sims 4, I used Jordan and Mary and built the farm house that Mary resides in.

In Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, I developed some Peep groups to be JAM family and friends. I also made peeps of some of my other favorite books, movies and even historical figures.

Sorry about the lapse in my posting. I hope to get back to more regular posting.

Take care,

TJ

Poem: Screens

Standard

Glass screens are everywhere.

On phones, televisions, laptops, desktops.

People stare at glass screens all day and well into the night.

Walking, driving, sitting, looking at screens.

Little screens, big screens, medium screens.

Wall-E people we are becoming.

Only seeing the screens in front of us.

No longer seeing the world outside the screen.

Screens everywhere.

Screens are becoming more important that what is directly

in front of someone.

No two faces quite the same

Why I Write…

Standard

Hello all,

This evening’s topic is Why I write.

I write because it is something that has always been in me to do. I can clearly remember the first story I ever wrote. It was in second grade. The assignment was to write about an inanimate object. So I chose to write a story about a throw rug. From the throw rug’s POV. I wrote about the good things and the bad things that happened to it and what it observed from its place on the floor in front of the door. It was supposed to be a legal pad page long. I made it to be about 3/4 of the page, so at the bottom I drew a smiling rug.

I believe I still have it tucked away somewhere on my shelf filled with everything I’ve ever written. After that I turned to writing stories about horses. Then I started writing about couples falling love and relationships and the ins and outs of that.

In junior high, I started what became a ten year long journal of sorts. I wrote a story about five different couples and how they were all friends. How they dealt with life, falling in love and eventually becoming parents and still maintaining their friendships. While the story was fictional, I found myself writing into the story lines parts of my own life, so it became like a journal. I was never comfortable with actually keeping a diary or a journal, so I managed to combine journal writing  with my fictional story. I wrote that story ongoing for nearly ten years. I filled up over 30, five subject notebooks. My current novel was a spin off out of those stories.

If I go too long without writing, I feel like I lose a part of myself. I have an urge to write everyday even if I only have time to write a few lines or a paragraph. I have always preferred to write out by hand first. Then I go to the computer. While typing I will edit as I go and make changes to the story.

With blogging, I find that I can write directly on the computer first after mentally organizing what I would like to say.

Why I write is because it is my way of expressing how I feel and think about the world around me. It allows me to freely say what and how I want. Like most artists, I am an introvert.  In new situations, I am more likely to stay quiet and observe rather than interact. If someone talks to me, I will respond. I struggle with making the first move. With writing, I am free to say anything I want or need.

Why I write allows me to live out my dreams and wishes through my characters. I get to invent places and worlds that I want to live in. I can explore the ups and downs of human and animal natures.

Why I write is because it is my very soul. When I write, I feel complete. I have the best imaginary friends possible within the people I create in my head. They control me as much as I control them. I may want them to go one direction, but they want to take me in the opposite direction.

Why I write is because it is my passion, my love. I look forward to the ideas that develop in my head and then seeing them take shape on paper or computer screen. Writing means the world to me.

Water Poem

Standard

Water

H2O.

Clear, life sustaining liquid.

No water, no life.

Soothing flowing water.

Puts one at peace.

Also makes one need to pee.

Water covers most of the Planet.

There is a reason for that.

Water is necessary to live.

No water, no life.

Yes water, yes live.
