Lists

My blog assignment today consists of making a list, so I made a list of what lists are and the various types and uses.

What is a list?

A definition of a list is: a noun, a number of connected items or names written or printed consecutively, typically one below the other.

There are many different types of lists. From a to do list to a bucket list. People make a list of things everyday. Kids make a list of toys for Santa Claus. Teenagers make lists for arguments with their parents about why they should be allowed to do something. Adults make lists of things they need to get done. And finally people have the ultimate list, the bucket list. This list is comprised of items or places that want to have or see before they die.

Making a list can be done in a few minutes or take a period of years to complete. And as things get done on the list, that item is removed, scratched out, erased or deleted. Other items may take its place or the list gets shorter.

Lists are a great way to organize a person’s day. One can make a list of all the things they want to get done that day. Then remove them as they complete each item. By the end of the day, there will be a sense of accomplishment as they visually see what they completed.
